I had the pleasure of seeing this play in its dress rehearsal last night and I have to say: Go see it! It was hysterical. In case you don’t know what it’s about, in a nutshell, it’s about a touring theatre company putting on a comedy and the drama that ensues onstage and backstage between them. The writing is very snappy and the actors manage them very well. It’s also a very physical comedy, with much of the humor in the second act being non-verbal. I was saying to my friend that often I find a comedy is either witty or physical, but not both. This one is both! It’s all about timing and staging, and they manage to pull it off to a T. It opens tonight and runs through next Saturday night.
